Sechelt enjoys 231 days of sunshine per year, 14 more days of sunshine than Victoria and 27 more days of sunshine than Vancouver. A climate characterized by mild, moist winters and warm, dry summers, Sechelt is sheltered from the open Pacific and experiences less wind, less snow, and milder overall weather patterns than most of Southern BC.

Nestled between two bodies of water, in Sechelt you’re never far from a sheltered ocean bay. Only one block from downtown and a five-minute walk from Veranda on the Coast is Sechelt’s beautiful public seawall overlooking Davis Bay.

Public Services

Sechelt is home to St. Mary’s Hospital, an emergency and acute care hospital that also serves the broader Sunshine Coast communities of Langdale, Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Halfmoon Bay, and Pender Harbour.
